Theme 2011-2012

Welcome to Washington State Business and Professional Women. Business and Professional Women/USA was founded in 1919 and promotes equity for all women.

Washington State Business and Professional Women (BPW/WA) is a member of BPW/USA and BPW/WA Foundation. Founded in 1921, BPW/WA is a multi-generational, bipartisan membership organization located in communities throughout Washington. Our members, partners, and supporters are committed to our on-going mission: To achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, information and to promote economic self-sufficiency for Washington working women.

We help women achieve professional and personal goals through programs, workshops, networking, and friendship. All is achieved through monthly meetings and other sponsored activities. Each Washington BPW local organization creates its own unique agenda, but all have the same objectives. BPW/WA builds powerful women through personal and professional development and increased political and social awareness. Washington working women and men from communities large and small are members of Washington BPW.

Estrella Chan (left), president of Bellevue Business Professional Women (BPW) sends us this announcement.

In celebration of National Business Women's Week, BPW honored Sonya Green (right) as Woman of the Year 2011 on October 19th at the Harbor Club in Bellevue.

Green is the News & Public Affairs Director at KBCS 91.3 FM, and producer of Emmy award winning television shows. She empowers people by teaching them to tell their stories and be their own advocates.

BPW (Business Professional Women) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization founded in 1919, one year before women got the rights to vote in the US.
